GENEVIEVE ELLIS
I BLAME SNOW WHITE ...
Genevieve is a first-generation immigrant, originally from South Africa, who's rich vocal timbre and killer Russell Crowe impression have somehow managed to get her to this point in her career. She began performing at a young age, as she would force her entire family to watch her reenact various scenes from Snow White as a four-year-old. (Click here for photo evidence.)
She received her BFA in Musical Theatre from SUNY Fredonia ('19), and holds a Certificate in Advanced Vocal Pedagogy from Sonaura Voice. In October 2022, she made her National Tour debut in Les Misérables, where she is currently still "dreaming the dream" as a Fantine cover. Though her favorite roles to take on are those where she can truly let her comedic side shine.
"It's not about winning. It's about showing up, doing your best, loving all people, and finding joy along the way."
- Stephanie J. Block
She has performed regionally with The REV, Second Generation Theatre Co., TOY, and The Erie Playhouse. Some of her favorite credits include; Cinderella (ITW), Portia (Something Rotten), Helena (MSND) and Brooke/Vicki (Noises Off). As a performing artist, she strives to radiate through sincere and honest storytelling. As a human being, she lives life with a whole lot of humor and a little bit of dog hair. (Her dog sheds.) She is always down to play a game of Clue, and wholeheartedly believes that laughter is the best medicine.
